. . . and make a difference today.

Thank the PA representatives who voted for PA's First Working Families Tax Cut!

We all rightly criticize legislators when they fail us. But it’s just as important to thank them when they do the right thing.

Now that a state budget has passed, we have some wins to celebrate! Join us in thanking legislators who continued to push for equitable education funding for all public school students as well as PA’s first Working Families Tax Credit.

The  Working Families Tax Cut piggybacks on the federal Earned Income Tax Credit to give 1.1 million Pennsylvania families a refund on their state taxes. The average credit is roughly $700 and families earning up to $60,000 can receive some benefit.

This year, we also added another billion dollars to K–12 education funding. And for the second year in a row, the majority of the money goes to historically underfunded schools.

Not every legislator did the right thing, however.

Those of you who have Democratic members of the House will have a chance to thank them for both of these wins. Those of you who have Republican members of the House will see a different letter, which points out who supported these goals and who didn’t. If your legislator is one who did not support it, feel free to say more about their failure to do so.
